This panel brings together experts from Canary Wharf Group, GeoPura, and Mace Group to explore practical strategies for delivering Net Zero in construction today. Topics include navigating carbon standards across project stages, pioneering hydrogen-powered energy alternatives, and embedding Net Zero principles from early design through to delivery.
Panellists will share real-world insights on overcoming technological and supply chain challenges, leveraging reclaimed materials, improving data quality, and enabling a skilled workforce transition. Electric future – what are the obstacles and opportunities?
Phil Steele will set out how a flexible, data led system keeps costs down as we electrify heat and transport. He will share what Octopus are learning from Agile, Cozy, Flux, Intelligent Octopus, Zero Bills and Tenant Power, and how vehicle to grid and home energy management can support installers, housing providers and building owners.
Smart and flexible – connected buildings
The government’s recently-published Flexibility Roadmap outlines ‘a vision for a cleaner, more flexible electricity system, which maximises the use of energy infrastructure to minimise energy bills for consumers’. But what does this mean in practice for buildings and their systems, services and appliances? And what do we mean by terms such as ‘smart’ ‘connected,’ ‘flexible’ and ‘demand-response’?
